Have you ever been asked out via friend?
A few days before Valentine’s day, I was walking up the staircase to my classroom when some people started yelling to me from the sitting area. “Hey you! GIRL IN THE PURPLE SHIRT!” I must have been the only person wearing a purple shirt around there, so I walked to the edge of the railing to see what they wanted. This lady sitting on the couch yelled up to me, “He thinks you are VERY pretty! Can he have your phone number!?” There was a whole group of people sitting together down there, so I’m not even sure which one of the guys she was talking about. They kept screaming for my phone number and three or four of them had their phones out… I couldn’t believe it. My hair was a ratty mess, I was wearing my glasses, and I slouch constantly. I figured that the reason they wanted my phone number was possibly to make fun of me or prank call me. “I don’t know. I don’t really know you.” I told them, then left. And I didn’t know any of them, at all.
Usually I expect the worst to come after a confrontation like that. If one of those guys actually wanted to hook up with me for Valentine‘s day, I realized he may be pissed off. I don’t trust anyone. But it was strangely quiet after I turned ‘him?’ down. But earlier today, I saw the same group of people. One of the guys said, “Hey sis, it’s that bitch.” I always hate it when a guy gets one of his friends to ask a girl out, but his f’ing SISTER? He had his sister ask me out? WTF.
As I was walking up the stairs, he yelled, “Hey, I like your smile! NOT!” So how fucking immature are they? Are guys so fucking obsessed with getting revenge against girls who have “wronged” them that they can’t even realize how ape shit insane their logic is to begin with? Why would you want to go out with someone who asked you via a sibling. That’s just STUPID. You can’t waste your time getting to know the person first and seeing if you even have a thing in common?

i’ve been in that situation more than a few times when i was in school. i remember one being really awkward and another that ended up with me getting physically aggressive with the girl’s friend.
