A creeper is a short and bald man that dares looking at women.

@R2D2: Interesting article.. so much so that I made it a new topic and gave you credit. Bettina is a awesome lady and I had the pleasure of a lunch meeting with her a few years ago.

Rather surprised you know her work though! :)

as far as ridicule and stalking goes i think female celebrities have it worse than male celebrities. not sure if that’s what you’re getting at.

  4. Muzolf says:

Don`t want to have photos of you naked and druken on the internet? Don`t get naked and drunk in public. Some people think the right to privacy means they can restrict what others are allowed to see and remember.

And somehow i can`t bring myself to feel sorry for celebrities who are stalked. I wouldn`t mind the stalkers if i could afford the bodyguards and way of living most of them have.

  5. cutiepie says:

This doesn’t just happen with celebrities and women who are half naked/drunk in public.

A male high school teacher was caught posting pictures he had taken of female students online, without consent. They were pictures of upskirt views with captions like ’1 of my hot senior students’. O, I guess she shouldn’t have worn sweat suits to school everyday.

A girl I know said she was laying on a towel on the beach in a swim suit (not even topless), and she noticed a shadow over her, so she turned around and it was a guy trying to take a picture of her. It’s her fault though because should’ve worn an ankle length t shirt. Cmon now.

Then there’s the guys who have hidden cameras recording sex with his girlfriend/fwb/one night stand.

I shouldn’t have to worry about some creep snapping photos/videos of me without my consent. And, no, it doesn’t matter if he’s attractive. There are plenty of women willing to show their goods (like during Mardi Gras) and there’s free porn, but these men like it from the woman who’s unwilling.

    sex-rape
adult entertainer-random pictures taken of her on the street

    What’s the difference? CONSENT!

  6. cutiepie says:

    *should have worn sweat suits

Also, that high school teacher is being prosecuted.

  7. Muzolf says:

I am sorry, but i just wont see it that way. And why bring up sex and rape? It makes no sense. Nobody is doing anything to you. Its a picture taken. The comparison is just off in so many ways.

Hidden cameras in a toilet or something? Yeah, that is a crime allready, and should be punished accordingly. Just as the teacher who was making photoes of girls from below. But that is still not the same thing.

I mean simply taking a photo in public space. Nope, sorry, while some of it might not be comfortable, it is neither a crime, nor even particularry unethical. I mean whats next? Are we going to hand out drugs to wipe the short term memory of everyone who sees you in your swimming suit? People will have to wear blindfolds? The guy who just photographed his family will have his camera taken away because someone else is allso on the picture who didnt want to?

There is a fine line between protecting ones rights, and infringing on the rights of others. If we start cussing about pictures taken, we have to start cussing about any video or picture made where you can be seen, regardless of intent.

Freedom comes with the price that others are allso free. Deal with it.

I made the sex-rape comparison because it goes with the idea that doing something sexually without a woman’s consent is ok, or she must’ve asked for it, as with taking unsolicited pictures of women and jacking off to them or posting them online.

It’s not about freedom to take pictures. Sure I’ve taken vacation pictures where there’s people walking in the background, everyone has. But, to take a picture of someone with the purpose of sexual satisfaction is not ok. Damn, I can’t even swim without ‘allowing’ someone to take pictures of me because it’s ‘fair game’ since I’m in public.

At the end of the day, you’re taking upskirt photos, ass in bikini photos and view down her shirt because she bent over in front of you photos without consent because you have the ‘right’ to photograph anyone as soon as they step outside their home. If you find a picture taken of you on the internet, you’re supposed to just say “O it’s ok. I shouldn’t have been outside”.

    Craziness.

  9. cutiepie says:

Also, would you be cool if you and your family were eating at a picnic table, and you look up and notice some guy (or woman) is hiding behind a bush taking pictures of you? “O, honey it’s ok, we’re in public. Let him snap pics”.

They’re not sexual, but it’s intruding. Yes, you’ll be seen in public, but I don’t it’s right for someone to go out of their way to get in your personal space like that.

  10. Muzolf says:

I wouldnt care, let them take a picture. So what?

But even if i found it uncomfortable. Unsettling in some cases. I have no right to tell them they cannot do it. What i can do is ask them politley not to do it. And if they refuse, well, they are being a jerk, and i would probably tell them to go fuck themselves, but still, i have no right to stop them. End of story.

The taking pictures upskirt has allready been mentioned, as a crime, my stance on it should be clear. That over that fine line from where it goes from being an asshole, to being a criminal. And the line has to be drawn there, and not before. Othervise you get crazy notions like what i mentioned. The other end of the horse, where people would have to start wearing blindfolds, because someone feels uncomfortable.

  11. cutiepie says:

We’re just gonna have to agree to disagree on this. Sure, people are free to take photos, but someone walking up to me and my family (especially children) and taking pics of us is invading personal space.

Now, if someone won’t stop staring at me, all I can do is walk away. If he follows me and starts taking pictures, that’s gonna feel like harassment, which I don’t feel is ok, whether the law says it’s ok or not.

  12. Muzolf says:

Like i said, someone who does this, is an asshole. Im not saying it is ok, but its something that cannot be regulated in a free society without it becoming… well, no longer being a free society.

  13. udolipixie says:

Oh no don’t you know guys are almost never called creepy for behavior that is inappropriate or makes a person feel unsafe, unsettled, or uncomfortable. No guys are only called that because the gal wasn’t attracted to him and she’s being a bitch.

“Don`t want to have photos of you naked and druken on the internet? Don`t get naked and drunk in public. Some people think the right to privacy means they can restrict what others are allowed to see and remember.”
There’s a difference between seeing with your eyes and remembering with your mind and seeing and remembering with video and pictures taken without a person’s consent. Though amusing victim-blaming and whining about the perpetrator’s rights.
