Read about the incident. It seems it was pre-meditated as an act of revenge angainst the girl (One of the football players was dumped by her, and by the look of it, for good reason). They drugged her, and since she was moved, this counts as a rape AND a kidnapping.
And the whole town then tried to sweep it under the rug, since it was their dear little high scool football team, oh and the son of the sheriff apparently?
Yeah, the sheriff and the whole town tried to silence the victims family when they pressed charges.
Un fucking beleivable, why aren`t these people in jail yet? Why wasnt the sheriff suspended, why wasnt the coach (Who provided the alcohol. ) fired and arrested? This is the few cases where i say a nice little wich hunt against the whole town would be not only justified, but necessary.
And thanks Anonymus, for doing the victim a service by revealing the evidence needed.
Made me absolutely sick. As much as I hate men, I’m getting really pissed off at mothers, too. What are women teaching their sons? Every woman who sticks by an abusive man while her children watch her take it every day are teaching their sons that abuse and violence toward women is ok…
@Magenta:
Don’t forget that the women who get beaten, too, have probably grown up in an abusive environment in their youth. It’s way too simplistic to blame “mothers”.
Hell, as much as I’d equally like to blame “absent fathers” for this, it’s still overly simplistic to blame BOTH parents for a child’s unacceptable behavior.
Society has a big part in it. Peer behavior play a HUGE part in a teenager’s behavior.
Therefore, it’s an entire society’s views that needs to change.
Therefore, even the seemingly fruitless battles we fight against trolls and the average ignoranimii have their importance.
Our two worst enemies are the fear and indifference that result from our weariness of others’ lack of apparent emptahy.
The third biggest enemy is our own lack of empathy.
As paradoxical as this may sound, kids should be drilled in respect and compassion camps from the youngest age. Schools do not do that right now (and it’d be downright crazy to think that it should be their sole responsibility, considering how hard teachers have it already).
On the other hand, you really can’t count on parents for shit, considering no one ever thought a human life was precious enough to warrant the implementation of breeding licenses…
The virtues of respect and compassion is worth so much more than the knowledge of any math or science at this point in our collective history. There’s really no point in telling mothers it’s THEIR responsibility to teach these virtues to their kids if the fathers are going to sabotage it by fucking with everyone’s heads at home.
And it’s really fucking hypocritical and irresponsible of people to put all the blame on parents for failing to raise their kids into “respectable members of society”, considering most of us don’t even care to get off our asses to get involved in our own community…
What’s more, the average person can’t even stand up against injustice when they see it… because it’s never their “own” problem.
WRONG.
It takes a village to raise a child.
And it takes courageous people with a vision to build a strong and supportive village.
