Dunno what sexuality you are but if you sleep with men, I think you will likely attract more men who will want to degrade and abuse you if you have a sex change.

where is says “When I hear stories of under 18s” its meant to follow “having sex changes.”

I believe gender – the idea that men and women act differently – is socially constructed. Sex is firstly your chromosomes and secondly your genitals.
By this reasoning, it doesn’t make sense for someone to be born in the wrong sexed body. You may act in a socially ‘female way, in which case you may feel pressured into thinking your sex should be female…

There are many reasons people have sex changes…but personally I think you should learn to love yourself as you are.

Just think about this seriously first…A ‘sex change’ may not solve all your problems.
After the operation, you may not have sexual feelings, you may be in pain and you may not really look much like a women…cosmetic surgery can cause many serious complications and can even kill you. The surgeons are only in it for money, or possibly some sort of fantasy about playing God and ‘making a woman’…

Hormones have to be taken for the rest of your life..Transexualism is relatively new and the effects of this are completely unknown. As far as ftm trans are concerned, I heard that a man taking testosterone to increase libido can lose several years off his life – and so if a woman takes testosterone she will surely have a decreased life too. There are likely to be similar unknown effects for you..

I’m only saying this because I care, not because I’m..some sort of moral prude or something..! I’m a girl and used to want to be a boy until I was around 15 – now I’m older and realise that I just wanted tobe treated like a human and didn’t like being degraded for being female.. When I hear stories about under 18s, one as young as 12 and I think there was a court case for a 9 year old, it seriously distresses me……At the moment I’m in a gay youth group and we campaign for gay rights etc. Some of the other’s thoughts on trans people disturb me…. they see nothing wrong with under 18s having sex changes and just don’t question it at all.

I think that accepting yourself for who you are in your own body is the easiest and probably the best solution…

i think you should definitely get professional help before you make any decisions and i don’t mean oh you’re crazy you need a shrink…i mean, if you are serious about a sex change then you need professional help to talk you through it.
You should go to a doctor and tell them what you have been thinking and they will guide you in the right direction. Either way, i hope whatever decision you make leads you to better happiness than what you’re feeling now.
Just trust that not everyone will judge you and just do what you need to to make yourself happy

Don’t let anyone or anything affect your decision, do what you feel will make you happy and will make you feel fulfilled. Its your like you have no reason to live it by other peoples expectations and opinions.

Society has no right to tell you what you should or shouldn’t do, as long as what you’re doing is legal (which, in this case, is legal, as far as I know.)
